Tom Goduto couldn't wait to get a piece of Destin's newest development.
"We're investing in properties here on the Emerald Coast. To me, this is the best one. We've been waiting a long time to get in on it."
Legendary Incorporated opened up reservations Wednesday morning for ownership of the Emerald Grande Condominiums, what is to be the centerpiece of the Harbor Walk Village in Destin.
It’ll be almost 15 acres of shopping, restaurants, residences and entertainment.
Developer Peter Bos hopes the development will revitalize the Destin Harbor.
"It's a big day for us after all these dream are all coming true and it's big day for Destin because that image that vision that everybody has about a Habourwalk Village and what a village could be in that environment is about to come true before your very eyes," he says.
Some have criticized the project for its density, but judging by the line, investors like Tom can't wait to get on board.
"Number one, it’s emerald coast, paradise. Number two, it’s upscale. It’s gonna be a destination for a lot of people when they find out what it is, the amenities are gonna be top. The things to do here, it’s gonna be a center for activity in Destin and this is a playground. There will be people that are coming here and we want to be a part of it."
And it’s going fast. The Harbor Walk Village and Emerald Grande Condominiums should be completed by the end of 2006.
