Kickback allegations have been leveled against the head of the Jackson County Road and Bridge Department.
William Edward Morris was arrested Thursday for the charge of unlawful compensation or reward for official behavior.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Department in Marianna says Morris was allegedly getting benefits, or kick backs from a south Florida company. He allegedly was using taxpayers’ money to buy items for the county at a price six times for what it could be purchased elsewhere.
The investigation is still ongoing.
