A North Carolina murder suspect made his way to Bay County, but it didn't take long for authorities to catch up to him.
Fifty-four-year-old Timothy Street was arrested this weekend and is being held at the Bay County Jail without bond until he will be taken back to North Carolina.
Sheriff's officials say Street had rented a U-Haul from south Florida and never returned the van. He served a sentence for grand theft at the Gulf Correctional Institution in Wewahitchka since January of 2003.
Saturday morning he was released and taken to the Rescue Mission in Panama City where investigators with a North Carolina Police Department and Bay County were waiting.
The Bay County Sheriff's Office says investigators from North Carolina knew Street would be released Saturday and were waiting to speak to him about a 1989 murder of a female stripper in Charlotte.
He is now being held in the Bay County Jail as a murder suspect and is awaiting extradition to North Carolina.
