Bay County is one step closer to housing a multi-million dollar aircraft plant.
The European company Airbus launched a nationwide search late last month to build a plant for military refueling tankers.
State economic leaders announced Tuesday that Panama City made the cut within Florida along with two other port cities.
Airbus is also looking at cities in 30 other states to house the plant, which would employ more than 1,100 workers.
The Airbus plant would be located at the new Bay County Airport site near West Bay if Panama City is successful in landing the facility here.
