Troop Care Package Drive

By  |

This month marks the second anniversary of the Iraq war. Day-to-day life in a war zone is starting to weigh on the troops, but a local soldier's father is trying to provide them with a few more of the comforts of home. Now, he needs your help.

Here are some of the items the troops need:

    Powdered laundry detergent
    Ground coffee
    Plastic bottles
    Boxes of tissues
    Dried snack mixes
    Current magazines
    Presweetened drink mixes
    Chocolate candy
    Paperback books
    Writing paper/pens/envelopes
    Full-size spiral notebooks
    Listerine or other mouth wash
    Dried fruit and nuts
    Bath soap
    Toothpaste & toothbrushes
    Hard candy
    Letters and cards

You can drop off these items at Newschannel 7 or Michael Creel's workplace at Arinc off of Thomas Drive. Creel's phone number is 774-9627.

Creel will send weekly packages until the end of this month.
