Search Intensifies for Local Teens

Panama City police are still looking for two teenagers who disappeared last Tuesday, and now the family is asking for anyone who may have seen them to come forward.

Twenty-year-old Justin Hightower is living a nightmare most of us don't even want to imagine. His 15-year-old brother Jeremy vanished last Tuesday leaving his family in shock.

“He hadn't called us or anything. He was supposed to be home at 2:30 and we haven't heard anything else from him. We just want him to come home.”

Jeremy is 5’10” and weighs 150 pounds. That day he was wearing jeans, a shirt, black shoes and he always wears an elastic band on his left wrist. He also has braces.

Justin says his brother was last seen with his girlfriend, 14-year-old Ashlyn Pecori. Police say she's missing too, and on a tip spent Thursday and Friday searching for both of them in the Big Daddy Drive area on the east end of Panama City Beach.

Police believe they are together and they may be in danger.

Justin says his brother Jeremy had known Ashlyn for about five months and if he wasn't with her, he mostly kept to himself, but just disappearing was out of character.

“He's a good kid. He's hard working. This isn't like him at all. I just hope nothing's wrong.”

Justin last saw Jeremy two days before he went missing.

He last said to him, “That I loved him. I know that's the last thing I said to him.”

Justin hopes to say those three words to his brother again real soon.

The family asks anyone who may have seen Jeremy Hightower or Ashlyn Pecori to call the Panama City Police Department at 872-3100 or the Crimestoppers Tips Line at 785-TIPS.
