Northwest Florida's Newest Radio Station Is on the Air

There's a new sound hitting the Destin airwaves this weekend.

Qantum Communications has officially flipped the switch on Fly 92.1, Okaloosa County's first Rhythmic Top 40 station.

The station will play non-stop music until Monday when the DJs come on the air. Station officials say they are serving a niche that nobody is serving in the area. They determined the format after months of market research.

Joe Valentine is the Program Director of Fly 92.1.

“It’s basically a party have fun station, something that the emerald coast is totally missing. It’s going to be a great thing for the younger audience and some of the older who think they're younger and want to have fun. It's basically going to be a big party on the radio."

In addition to Fly 92.1, Qantum Broadcasting also owns Wave 102 and Mix 103, all three serving the Destin/Ft/Walton Beach/Okaloosa County market. In addition to the three radio stations, NewsChannel 7's Destin bureau is located in the same studios that house our radio partners in Destin.
