Grieving is a painful process for anyone, but local counselors say it's especially hard when someone close to them commits suicide.
Sheriff's officials may not have released the exact cause of death, but family and friends say most likely 14-year-old Ashlyn Pecori and 15-year-old Jeremy Hightower took their own lives.
Now their family and friends are left with many unanswered questions, the most obvious being “why?”
A free, bereavement program at Covenant Hospice hopes to put some of their questions and worries to rest. Counselors say a lot of grieving parents and friends feel guilt when a loved one commits suicide.
You can call Covenant Hospice anytime to set up a one-on-one bereavement session with one of their counselors. Their number is 785-3040.
