Dental care is important to every community. But it's not something that's as available to those who live in rural counties.
The Jackson County Health Department held a ribbon cutting to announce the opening of its new dental clinic.
Prior to the clinic opening there was only dental care for Medicaid patients that were in the third grade or below.
This care was given by the health department's mobile unit.
The new office will provide care for people 21-years-old or younger.
The county's mobile dental clinic will continue to operate and will refer patients to the new clinic as needed.
