Severe thunderstorms and tornadoes left a trail of damage in southern Georgia Tuesday.
One person was reported killed in Donalsonville by a twister that touched down there.
Another tornado destroyed trailers and brick houses in Enterprise, Georgia. At least five people were injured, some critically.
Several tornadoes flattened a number of mobile homes in Mitchell, Georgia, and Emergency Management officials say a dam break flooded some roads in Moultrie.
Most of the heaviest damage was done in Miller County, where trees were uprooted and several buildings in the Donalsonville area were damaged from a tornado. Roofs were torn off, windows were blown out of homes, and mobile homes were crushed.
Several people were trapped under debris left by the tornado.
Tornado Watches and Warnings were posted for almost 12 hours in the area Tuesday. Although the Panama City area experienced heavy rain and lightning, there wasn’t any damage reported here.
