Our sandy white beaches turned into a nightmare scene for many visitors Thursday afternoon. Three people had to be rescued from the rough Gulf waters.
Panama City Beach police found three men floating on a Boogie Board behind Edgewater Beach Resort.
Lifeguard and rescue swimmers attempted to go in the water, but the conditions were too rough. A nearby jet skier was the only one able to reach the stranded swimmers. Luckily, no one was hurt.
Neighboring Walton County is also making a plea for all swimmers to stay out of the water on their beaches. They've made similar rescues Thursday as well. Walton County officials are now flying double red flags.
