A Thursday afternoon fire leaves a Callaway couple homeless.
The blaze began about one o'clock off South Gay Avenue in Callaway.
Firefighters from Callaway, Springfield and Bay County worked for about half an hour to put the blaze out.
No one was at home when the fire started. Both residents were apparently at work. When the couple got word of the fire, they hurried home only to find they have no home left.
The good news is no one was injured. The state fire marshal is still investigating. The cause isn’t known yet.
