After a 23 and 7 season and a trip to the regional semi-finals game, you'd think the first-year Chipley High School boys basketball coach would be preparing for his second season.
But apparently school officials want to take the boys basketball program in another direction.
Washington school district officials have informed Tony Davis he will not continue as Chipley's basketball coach, and no one will say why.
Davis has reportedly filed a discrimination claim against the School Board, but neither he nor school Superintendent Calvin Stephenson will get into the details.
Tony Davis says, "I really can't get into all the parameters that's involved, but I will say that in a situation like this you do need to seek legal counsel."
The school district action only affects Davis' involvement with the basketball team. He still has his teacher's aide position.
