Northwest Florida Bus Crash Injures Seven Students, Truck Driver

Authorities say a bus was taking 31 children home from Holley-Navarre Intermediate School when it was hit on U.S. 98 five miles from the school.

The driver of a pickup, owned by Santa Rosa County, and seven children were injured when the truck rear-ended a school bus.

The children were taken to three area hospitals with minor injuries.

The truck's driver was 40-year-old Michael Weekly of Milton. He's in fair condition after going into surgery in a Pensacola hospital.

Officials of the private company operating the buses say 44-year-old Roleshia Alexander of Navarre followed proper procedure.
