The local mass transit system, the Baytowne Trolley set new records in March.
During the month the Trolley averaged nearly 1,000 riders every day. That's a 31 percent increase over March of last year.
This year is the 10th anniversary of the local trolley system. Parker Mayor Brenda Hendricks, who is chairman of the Transportation Planning Organization, says the construction boom on the beaches has helped with many workers using the system to get to their project sites.
The continuing hike in gas prices has also had its impact in getting more people to ride the Trolley.
