A Ft. Lauderdale woman says she is considering legal action against Okaloosa County authorities who used a stun gun on her Easter weekend.
Patricia Skelly appeared in Ft. Lauderdale Wednesday with her attorney Ellis Ruben
She claims she was late checking out of a hotel in Okaloosa County Easter Sunday. She claims hotel management called Valpariso Police who arrested Skelly for trespassing and resisting arrest.
Skelly was taken to the Okaloosa County jail in Crestview, where she claims officers dragged her and then used a stun gun on her 17 times.
Okaloosa County Department of Corrections Director Larry Caskey admits Corrections Officers used a stun gun on the woman nine times, but says it was justified. He says Skelly was extremely combative, attempted to get out of her handcuffs and escape from a patrol car and bit her own hand.
