The Florida Ethics Commission case against former Bay County Commissioner Danny Sparks has been settled.
The commission Thursday accepted a deal in which Sparks will be assessed a $1,000 fine for an ethics violation five years ago.
During a trip sponsored by Jail Operator CCA, a financial consultant paid for a $240 round of golf for sparks. Ethics rules prohibit gifts of more than $100.
Sparks settled the case to end it, and has said he did not know the golf was that expensive.
