Twenty five Years Since the Failed Iran Hostage Rescue Attempt

Some proceeds from county music singer Keni Thomas' album and its first single are going to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.

Thomas, a former Army Ranger, and Travis Tritt performed this weekend in Ft. Walton Beach for an event to sponsor the foundation.

It gives college scholarships to the children of special forces, men and women killed in the line of duty following the losses during the Iran rescue missions.

Five airmen and three Marines were killed 25 years ago after failing to rescue 53 American hostages in Iran.

Former presidential candidate Ross Perot was honored for supporting orphans of slain U.S. special operations personnel. He was presented with its Spirit of the Warrior Award.

Dr. Jimmy Lewis was nine years old when his father died. He's the foundation's first college graduate.
