24-year old Elton Jerome Davis Jr. was arrested May 12th after a woman found the toddler playing in a roadway with a dog.
The woman recognized the child and brought him home where she found the front door had been left open but Davis Jr was not inside.
Davis Jr told the deputy he had placed the sleeping child on a couch, put Cheerio’s and orange juice nearby, and then left to go to work.
Davis Jr is being charged with child neglect without great harm.
