It involved three vehicles, a massive fire and claimed three lives, all because investigators say someone was passing in a no passing zone.
FHP troopers say a full-size van and a Chevrolet Tahoe were traveling south on Highway 79 a couple miles south of Interstate 10.
The driver of the van tried to pass the Tahoe and hit a red Nissan from Alabama head-on.
One person in the Nissan was killed and two people died in the van. Two people from Missouri were traveling in the Tahoe. They received minor injuries.
Authorities have not released the names of the victims.
