Convicted local child killer Christopher Brian Morrison has lost another court battle.
Morrison is the Springfield man who beat three-year-old Chance Keesler to death four years ago.
The toddler was beaten so badly his liver was split in half.
Last June, the First District Court of Appeals upheld Morrison’s murder conviction and his life sentence. Since then he has claimed his appeal attorney was ineffective.
The Appeals Court Tuesday rejected that argument on its merits.
Morrison has maintained the child's injuries were accidental.
