Two Wounded in Apalachicola Standoff

A shootout with police in Apalachicola ends with one teenager recovering from a gun shot wound to the leg and her stepfather shot by police.

Apalachicola police and Franklin County sheriff's officials arrived at a mobile home on Bayview Drive after someone hung up a 9-1-1 call.

There they found Howard Infinger, Sr. holding several children hostage inside. The oldest, 19 years old, was able to help the three others get out a back window before she was shot in the leg by her stepfather.

The girl then crawled out the window and police started firing into the home. The whole stand off lasted about four hours.

The girl underwent surgery for her leg injuries and she’s reported in good condition.

Infinger is also in the hospital being treated for a gunshot wound when apparently shot by police. He is in stable condition.

It is unclear what sparked the confrontation.
