Model Wannabe Is Shot by Photographer

Panama City police are still searching for a man they believe shot a young Lynn Haven woman while holding her and her friend as apparent hostages.

Twenty-year-old Christina Raffield and 18-year-old Tonya Winkle say they went to some apartments on East 19th Street near Harrison Ave. to pose for 58-year-old Manuel Ramirez.

The girls want to be models and they say Ramirez told them he was a photographer.

Once inside the apartment, the two girls say Ramirez allegedly pulled a small caliber handgun. At some point he began shooting.

Miss Raffield was hit at least twice, once in the abdomen and once in the arm. She’s in stable condition at a Panama City hospital.

The girls fled the apartment and drove down the street to a funeral home where they called police.

In the meantime, Ramirez, the suspect, has disappeared. He could be driving a white Cadillac with blue airbrush or spray painted heart designs on it.

There is a reward being offered for Ramirez’s arrest. If you have any information please call the Panama City Police Department at 850-872-3100 or call the Crimestoppers Tips Line at 850-785-TIPS.
