Past sexual affairs with students have caught up with a former high school principal from Bay County.
Earlier this month, the state Education Practices Commission permanently revoked the teaching certificate of former New Horizons principal David Creel. He surrendered his certificate and did not contest charges he had ongoing sexual relations with two female students several years ago.
The complaint says between 1977 and 1978, Creel engaged in sex with a minor female on several occasions.
Then, from 1982 to 1984, Creel had a sexual relationship with a second minor female student. During that affair, the complaint says Creel provided alcohol to the student and drank with her. When she became pregnant, Creel gave her money for an abortion.
The case began October 6th, 2006 when the school superintendent received an e-mail detailing the affairs. Creel retired later that same month. He no longer resides in bay county.
Creel was principal at Everitt Middle School before taking the reins at New Horizons when it opened in 1997.

A response to Lee in Panama City: Your rather judgmental response is exactly why many victims of sexual abuse don't have it in them to come forward...for years, or even decades, if ever. These girls were vulnerable minors. This predator was an authority figure who victimized children. It takes a lot of guts for a victim to come forward after such a tramatic experience. This happens to people from all types of families, all types of upbringing. You probably have friends from 'good' families who have been victimized in the past, and you may not even know it. Two of my very best friends were victimized as children and it took years for them to confide in me, a dear friend. I am as outraged as you are. This guy is scum and needs to rot in hell. Let's, as a community, embrace victims like his and leave the judgement out.

Where were the parent(s) of these girls and why has it taken thirty some years for this to come to light? That probally was not his first nor will be his last time. I hope that his current employer, hopefully not with children, has this information.
