Jackson County leaders are finalizing their plans for this weekend's National Guard homecoming.
They've learned the troops from the 144th Transportation Company should be returning home this Saturday afternoon between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m.
The soldiers were deployed to Iraq a year ago. Their buses should exit Interstate 10 in Sneads and travel Highway 90 into Marianna.
The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce is expecting thousands to line the street, waving American flags.
Chamber officials are also selling gift bags for the soldiers, with all of the proceeds going to the 144th Family Readiness Group.
For more information on the homecoming and the gift baskets, contact the Jackson County Chamber at 850-482-8060 or email@example.com.
