The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says the suspected suicide of an inmate earlier this year was just that, a suicide.
“The FDLE issued it's official report Wednesday concerning the April 5th hanging of James Tyrone Sly, Jr. at the Bay County Jail, downtown.”
Corrections Corporation of America officers found Sly hanging in a fifth floor shower stall. He apparently used a bed sheet.
His wife, Tangela, blamed CCA for Sly's death, saying jail officials should have had him on a suicide watch, but investigators say they interviewed jail personnel and fellow inmates and did not find any evidence that sly was depressed or suicidal.
