Overnight rain made roadways slick, contributing to several traffic crashes around the area, including one shortly after midnight right outside the NewsChannel Seven studios on Front Beach Road.
The Florida Highway Patrol says a silver or white Scion two door car pulled out in front of a blue G-M-C Blazer. The Blazer skidded on the wet pavement, rolling completely over, and ejecting the driver and a passenger.
The driver 21-year old Suksan Senakit of Panama City is listed in critical condition in a local hospital.
The passenger in the G-M-C, 20 year old Russel L. Banas, also of Panama City is in serious condition. Troopers say neither was wearing a seatbelt.
The silver Scion which caused the accident, left the scene and troopers are still looking for it. Investigators say it probably has a lot of damage to its front end.
The hit and run vehicle is described as a late model two door Scion, while or silver in color. It apparently had just turned around in the NewsChannel Seven parking lot when it pulled back onto Front Beach Road and the crash occurred.
If you see the vehicle call the Florida Highway Patrol at STAR FHP on your cell phone, or any police agency or the CrimeStoppers tips line at 785-TIPS
