It’s ok to go back in the water along the Florida Panhandle, but now swimmers are more aware of their surroundings.
There have been two shark attacks in three days off the coast of northwest Florida. A teenaged girl was killed in Walton County on Saturday and a Monday teenaged boy was struck by a bull shark at Cape Sanj Blas in Gulf County. He's in the hospital; his leg had to be amputated.
Tourist Erin Black says he and his wife were a bit spooked by the shark attack at San Blas. They plan to stay out of the water. Black also said he will do his fishing from shore.
Teacher Celia Page from Georgia was back in the water Tuesday with her three-year-old daughter. She says they are beach lovers and can't stay away, but they are just a lot more cautious now.
