Panama City police are now charging a Panama City Beach man with being behind the wheel during a fatal hit and run crash that killed a pedestrian.
Investigators arrested Arturo Sanchez Martinez on Tuesday and charged him with tampering with evidence.
He's now facing two additional charges: leaving the scene of a traffic crash with serious injuries and leaving the scene of a crash causing a death.
Police now say Martinez was driving the vehicle that killed one Ukrainian man and seriously injured another on Highway 98 and 23rd Street near the port back on June 18.
The victims were from a Ukrainian vessel docked at port Panama City.
Authorities found the hit and run vehicle Tuesday evening at Martinez's home on Laurie Avenue.
Someone had removed the vehicle's bumper. That's why they charged him with evidence tampering.
Immigration officials ordered him held without bond because he might be an illegal alien from Mexico.
