Hundreds of students and parents were on the Mosley High School Campus early Friday morning to attend a brief memorial service for a 17-year-old student killed Thursday in a traffic crash.
The entire senior class packed the Mosley High School gymnasium to honor classmate 17-year-old Emily Tuthill who was killed around noon Thursday at the intersection of Highway 77 and 24th Street near the Lynn Haven Post Office.
She and another Mosley student, 17-year-old Jessica Brown, were returning from an off campus lunch. The tragedy came on the first day of school for Bay County students.
Emily was active in a number of school clubs, student government and athletics. She was a member of the Mosley track and soccer teams.
Her 17th birthday was just this past Tuesday and her family had planned a birthday party for her for this Saturday.
Instead they’ll be receiving her friends at Wilson Funeral home on Airport Road. Visitation is from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Panama City.
