Deputy Cleared of Shooting Suspect

Investigators have cleared a Walton County sheriff's deputy who shot and killed a man trying to break into his home.

Deputy Bradley Stafford shot and killed his 23-year-old neighbor, Travis Burns, when Burns showed up and broke into the deputy's apartment on February 8.

Deputies say Burns was naked as he kicked in the door.

The two men struggled, then Stafford pulled his gun and shot Burns.

This week investigators cleared Stafford of any wrongdoing.

Walton County Sheriff's Captain Danny Glidewell they are now determining if they need an internal investigation to determine if Stafford violated by agency procedures
