Evacuation Zones

Bay County Emergency Management officials are watching Dennis very closely and finishing up their hurricane preparations. They say you should be too.

Your hurricane kit should include a three-day supply of water, non-perishable foods, prescription medications and childcare supplies.

You also need a first aid kit, a flashlight and a battery operated radio. Always have a three-day supply of cash and a full tank of gas in your vehicle.

Now is also the time to find out which evacuation zone you live in. You can find that evacuation zone map in the Yellow Pages or on our website under the "evacuation zone" link. Or at the EOC's website at http://bcem.co.bay.fl.us/

If you don't have Internet access you can call the EOC at 784-4000.

The EOC has broken down that evacuation map by cities and you can now enter your address and search that way. There's also another server who can help with Web site overload problems this year.

Your best bet is to find out now, because their phone lines are sure to be busy if Dennis gets closer to our coast.
