If you are unhappy about the price of gas, here's some consolation.
The huge price differences from one station to the next in less than a few hours have not gone unnoticed.
Florida House Speaker Allan Bense says he has been bombarded from people who are upset with apparent price gouging in the Panama City area.
Bense told NewsChannel Seven, "I can tell you that what we are seeing is wrong. I filled up my car this morning at 7:00 a.m. and the price had gone up 15 cents a gallon overnight. I believe in market flux, but not that big of a flux.”
"I think there is some price gouging going on and I've urged the attorney general of Florida to do something about it. I will do anything in my power to see that the folks who are price gouging are prosecuted, because it’s wrong. It hurts the little guy. I don't think all of these price increases are valid," Bense went on to say.
Some people have complained gas prices jumped by 30 to 40 cents a gallon and some by more than a dollar a gallon at gas stations in the Panama City area. It all happened as evacuations for Hurricane Dennis were getting underway.
