Florida Wants Salvia on the Banned Drug List
State lawmakers want to ban a hallucinogenic drug that can be bought on-line and has already been linked to one death. Wednesday in Tallahassee a senate committee voted on a bill that would make Salvia illegal.

This is a lose, lose, bill. The popularity and price will increase and people will go to jail. Plus, it would make it worth the effort to smuggle the stuff into the state since it can be bought legally in other states.

Want to create an entire new drug crime problem? Outlaw Salvia Divinorum! The article is incorrect. Salvia is nothing like LSD. It's effects only last a few minutes. Pot is illegal and you can't keep it out of the hands of young people. Think outlawing Salvia is going to make a difference?

It seems here we are yet again trying to put something in the spotlight to take away from the disaster that our government still fattens their pockets on daily. Quite simply the most dangerous drug on the market is alcohol has been and always will be. But as long as everyone is enjoying their jack daniels which I'm certain is under the cabinet of nearly every elected officals desk, and letting health care be riddled with cancers and vehicle accidents not to mention disfunctional family homes caused by alcohol abuse we will still continue to keep the one drug criminalized that does have a cure for hepatitus C which the gov will not let out..Seek more information the truth is out there.

I agree with the other two commenters. The things these people are saying just makes them sound ignorant.

These people, I swear, just want everything banned. To compare it to LSD or PCP, PLEASE! They try and compare marijuana to LSD also just to give it a bad image. I think we need to just ban 3/4 of the govt.

I am by no means a recreational drug user nor do I advocate the same...but the amount of propaganda being produced by legislators is borderline ridiculous. The drug itself has not caused any deaths (it was a suicide) and the drug's potentcy is no where close to that of LSD or PCP. Typically the drug's mild effects last for only a few minutes. It just seems funny that there is such a big fuss being made over all this. If you want to ban it then go ahead, but call it what it is.
