Tyndall Air Force Base's 2008 Gulf Coast Salute Air Show and Open House is Saturday, March 29. This year's event will be a fun-filled day of displays, demonstrations and presentations.

The United States Air Force Thunderbirds, the premier Air Force aerial demonstration team, will headline the one-day, joint-service show, with a line-up to include performers and demonstration teams from all military branches.

The Golden Knights, an elite Army parachute demonstration team, will also perform.

Country music artist, Aaron Tippin, will perform a free concert at the conclusion this year's event. Admission and parking are free.

Base safety officials offer some safety tips to visitors to ensure full enjoyment of the event and minimize safety incidents and inconveniences.
* Drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration. Be aware that alcoholic and caffeinated beverages cause dehydration.
* Wear loose comfortable clothing and sturdy walking shoes. Bring your own sunscreen and lather up. There is limited shade
on the flightline, so consider bringing hats and sunglasses too.
* When driving on and around base wear a seatbelt at all times and be cautious of cars and motorcycles.
* Parents - know where children are. The flightline is an
industrial area with many potential hazards.
* Do not bring firearms, weapons, or knives. They will be
confiscated. Do not bring large coolers. Small coolers, purses and diaper bags are permitted, but are subject to search.
* Do not bring pets or leave them in vehicles.
* Smoking is not allowed in any hangars, display tents, around any of the aircraft or the static display ramp.
* Report any suspicious activity immediately to the nearest
servicemember in uniform.
* Use caution when walking under and around static display
aircraft. Many aircraft have low wings or protruding pieces that could cause injuries.
