The Panama City-Bay County Airport was closed for several hours Sunday afternoon, but it wasn't because of the weather.
A small plane was trying to touch down on the main runway when its landing gear collapsed. No one onboard the twin engine plane was injured.
It took several hours to clear the runway, and that delayed several of the airlines regular flights. The runway was opened several hours later, and airport officials say they expect to keep the airport open as Katrina makes landfall.
Even so, delays by the airlines themselves may mean some folks won't make it back to Panama City as scheduled. Call your airline for possible delays and cancellations.
