Florida's Most Popular State Park Was Suddenly Closed for a Few Hours Monday Morning

There was a scare at St. Andrew State Park Monday morning that caused the gates to be closed for a few hours.

Park rangers found what appeared to be an unexploded military ordnance on the beach Monday morning.

The area was sealed off and a U.S. Navy EOD team was brought to the site.

It turned out to be a Navy flare used during exercises. The flare apparently was a dud or never did fire as it should.

The device was removed by EOD personnel and everyone then went back to a good day at the state park without further incident.
