Former Congresswoman Helping With Hurricane Relief in Northwest Florida

With Hurricane Katrina help centers popping up all over the Gulf Coast region, there’s a woman who is helping head one up at seaside in south Walton.

Marilyn Lloyd, a former congresswoman from Tennessee, has been one of those taking charge in the Seaside community to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The hurricane relief center is located behind the Seaside Post Office in a kiosk. The community has already collected a lot of donated items to help the evacuees rebuild their lives.

Former Congresswoman Lloyd says the thing they need the most now are volunteers.

“We have ladies clothes, men’s clothes, children, even infants and we also have household items some people can use.”

The relief center at Seaside is still taking donations, and if you’d like to volunteer, call Kim Turner at 850-231-3209
