Arson and Attempted Murder Charges Pending

Investigators are considering criminal charges against the person sent to the hospital as a result of a Monday morning fire on the east end of Panama City Beach.

Investigators tell NewsChannel seven they think an argument between 41-year-old Robert Reese and his girlfriend led to the blaze early Monday morning at 6901 Sunset Avenue at the beach.

Investigators say Reese and Suzanne Baggett got into an argument, which ended with Baggett threatening to end their relationship. That's when Reese, according to investigators, doused the house in gasoline and set it on fire.

Reese is at a local hospital being treated for second and third-degree burns.

The couple's dog, a black Lab, died in the fire.

Baggett made it out unharmed.
