We are all familiar with the Hurricane Katrina video of people looting stores, stealing whatever they could find.
Panama City Beach Police have arrested one of those looters with $15,000 worth of drugs he looted from a drug store.
Like many evacuees Joseph Durkin was welcomes into Bay County with open arms, even given a place to eat and sleep for free.. But Beach Police say it was all a front to sell the stolen drugs.
Durkin was arrested early Wednesday in the Long Beach area. He had all of the stolen drugs with him at the time, along with $500 in cash.
Police here were able to trace the drugs back to the looted pharmacy in New Orleans.
Durkin faces about a half dozen narcotics related charges and will have a first appearance in Bay County Court on Thursday.
