After three and a half years, Okaloosa County sheriff's investigators think they finally have caught up with a man they think is responsible for a hit and run death.
Thirty-five-year-old Paul Edward Branchcomb of Destin was arrested Wednesday for the hit and run death of Kymberly Dawn Thomas in January of 2002.
Investigators say Branchcomb has confessed to hitting the woman with his truck on Airport Road in Destin and then leaving the scene.
Someone identifying himself as Joe Black called 9-1-1. The two and a half minute phone conversation was recorded and played back on the Sheriff Office Web site with the hope someone would recognize the voice.
An anonymous tip to the Okaloosa Crimestoppers tips line led investigators to Branchcomb.
