Bay County commissioners voted Tuesday to renovate the M.B. Miller Pier, better known as the county pier on Panama City Beach.
Six new picnic pavilions will be added along with 110 additional parking spaces, access for emergency vehicles, and additional lighting.
The pier will also be re-decked.
The county is splitting the $400,000 price tag with the state. The project represents phase one of a plan designed to transform the pier into a premier recreational resource.
