Bay County Has a New, Additional County Judge

Michael Hauversburk was appointed to the position late Thursday by Gov. Jeb Bush.

The 2005 Florida Legislature created the new county judgeship to help with the growing caseload in the county court system.

He was one of a number of attorneys who filed applications and underwent interviews with the circuit’s Judicial Nominating Commission.

The JNC sent three names to the Governor for consideration for appointment for the new judgeship slot.

The 45-year-old Haversburk of Panama City Beach received his law degree in 1990 from Florida State University College of law. He’s been in private practice in Panama City.

No date has been formally set for his investiture.
