Voluntary Pre-K

Students in Jackson County are heading back to school next Monday. Officials from Florida's voluntary pre-k are urging parents to get their youngsters enrolled.

If you already have a pre-k eligibility certificate, remember that it expires after August 15. Jackson County already has 80 children enrolled and is expecting 30 more by the start of school. The county has 19 providers and enough space for 200 children.

Lynn Eldridge with voluntary pre-k says, "There's really a little sense of urgency because if you want your child to attend, you need to get them in. You may not get your first choice, but the good news is there are many providers that have been certified."

If you’re a parent of a child that turns four years old by September 1 and want your child enrolled in pre-k. you can call 850-482-9140 to get a pre-k eligibility certificate.
