A man wanted in Michigan on attempted murder charges has been arrested in Crestview.
Okaloosa County sheriff’s deputies and officers from the U.S. Marshal’s Service arrested 34-year-old Carlos Medina at his home at a Crestview mobile home park.
He was originally taken into custody on cocaine and marijuana charges and was using the name Carlos Gonzales.
Lawmen later learned Gonzales was actually Carlos Medina and was wanted by Michigan State Police for attempted murder and armed criminal sexual conduct.
Deputies say Medina initially tried to escape out of a window when they served a search warrant on the mobile home, but they blocked the attempt to flee.
They seized eight pounds of marijuana, a small amount of cocaine and a hand gun in making the arrest.
