New Storm Water Fees Will Start Showing Up in a Few Days

Property owners in the unincorporated areas of Bay County will be seeing something new on your property tax bill this year, a new charge.

Earlier this year the Bay County Commission approved the storm water drainage fee.

In unincorporated sections of Bay County, homeowners will pay $40 a year and businesses will pay $200 annually.

The TRIM notices (Truth in Millage) from the Bay County Property Appraiser's Office went into the mail Monday and the new fees will show up on them. The actual tax bill will be mailed at the very end of October and is due starting in November.

If you have any questions about the TRIM notice, fell free to call 784-4095. That's the number for the Bay County Property Appraiser's Office.

The County Commission currently plans to use funds from the new fees to improve the current storm water drainage systems and to provide adequate drainage for all the new development in the area.
