Beach city council members met earlier Thursday evening to discuss a possible noise ordinance that could go in effect for the community.
Steps towards an ordinance are in the beginning stages and will start with a series of workshops. The first workshop will be held at 12:30 on May 22, an hour and a half before the next regular city council meeting.
The workshops will not be designed to strictly create an ordinance without giving the chance for community members to get involved. Rather, they will be a time for anyone to express their opinions.
Richard Jackson, city manager, said, "What I would like to suggest that you do is have a workshop and let the business community and those folks that are interested in the residential areas to come together, and let's develop something that would be enforceable and that would be fair."
