Any day is a bad day for your power to go out, but Mother's Day is even worse.

Over 2,000 customers lost power around 12:00 today from 15th Street South to Beck Avenue. The power loss was a result of heavy winds damaging power lines.

Crews have been working hard to restore power to residents. The power loss comes at a horrible time with families spending time together for Mother's Day.

Gulf Power is hoping they will have power restored by early evening.
