State Health Officials Take Action Against Two Local Health Care Professionals

Investigators from the Agency for Health Care Administration said they found evidence that Quatonia Croom abused four elderly male veterans.

Croom allegedly threw a pull up diaper and hit an 84-year-old man with it, slapped another 84 year old man in the face with one of the diapers, was rough with an 89 year old patient she was turning in his bed, and embarrassed an 83 year old gentleman by pulling down his pants in a public place.

Croom lives in Mexico Beach. She did not respond to the state complaints.

Besides having her license revoked, Croom was ordered to pay $1350 for investigation costs.

Meanwhile, the State agency for Health Care Administration is taking action against a Panama City Beach psychiatrist.

Dr. Anthony Reading will not be able to treat female patients in the future. The state issued the emergency restriction after several women claimed Dr. Reading allegedly hugged, kissed and fondled them.

The alleged conduct happened while Dr. Reading was working at the University of South Florida?s psychiatric clinic in 2003 and 2004.

The emergency restriction was imposed September 20th and was made public Tuesday.

Dr. Readings is the former Medical Director of Bay Behavioral in Panama City.
