Ft. Walton Beach Home Invasion Arrests Made

An investigation into both a home invasion robbery and an armed robbery in Okaloosa County has led to the arrests of five suspects.

Investigators with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office were able to link an armed robbery at Pinecrest Mobile Home Park on October 5 and a home invasion robbery at 2496 West Highway 98 on October 6 with five individuals ranging in age from 14 to 23.

Those arrested:

*16-year old Timothy Raye Whitaker of 906 Meadow Lane in Fort Walton Beach – home invasion robbery, aggravated battery, and armed robbery.

* 16-year old Jaymie Lee Greek of 465 Tasha Street in Mary Esther – home invasion robbery, aggravated assault, and armed robbery.

* 14-year old Kace J. Zuidhoek of 202 Misty Court in Destin – home invasion robbery, principal to aggravated battery and armed robbery.

* 23-year old Juan Alvarez of 129 Nobalt Drive in Mary Esther – home invasion robbery.

* 20-year old Dean Naoto Huffer of 953 McFarlan Avenue, Apt. 48, in Fort Walton Beach – home invasion robbery and possession of marijuana under twenty grams.

In the October 5 incident, investigators believe the individuals used an air pistol to rob Martin Gomez-Mugina of $225.00. Gomez was shot seven times, leading to the aggravated battery charge against Timothy Whitaker. Gomez was also cut in the face with a knife, leading to the aggravated assault charge against Jaymie Greek.

In the October 6 incident, investigators believe four of the individuals, dressed in black and armed with handguns, entered the trailer on West Highway 98 while a fifth person served as the lookout. The crime was interrupted by the trailer park’s landlord and the suspects fled. The family at the trailer was not injured.

The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are possible.
